The levels of information available
in reports will differ according to the legal status of
the business - more information tends to be filed about

A Personal
Credit Report
A credit report on a
person, otherwise called an individual or
consumer, requires the searcher to have a license
to conduct such a search and to access the
financially sensitive information which is
contained within a consumer credit file. It is not
too hard to apply for permission to run these
types of searches, and once you complete the form
and make the necessary payment you will be given a
number that identifies you as being registered to
conduct such enquiries, and when you open an
account with a credit reference agency this
registration will enable them to give you access
to consumer data.
Business Credit Report
If
you need business credit reports you will not
generally require special permission although
there could be circumstances where you should
obtain permission of the person you are searching,
for example if you are searching the individual or
a non-Limited sole trader or partners, and you may
be searching the people as well as the business.
